Knut Ola is a director and industry specialist in the Ocean Industries Division of DNB Bank in Oslo, Norway, where he for the last eight years has led the sustainability initiatives towards the shipping industry. He has been with DNB for more than 25 years in Oslo, Athens and Singapore and in various capacities within shipping, offshore and logistics. He represents DNB in several maritime sustainability initiatives, including the Green Shipping Programme (Norway), the Poseidon Principles, the Responsible Ship Recycling Standards and an ocean data project with focus on biodiversity and shipping. For the last three years he has been working with Nordic Circles representing DNB in the OPPSIRK project. His educational background is from the BI – Norwegian School of Management (Sivilokonom) and the University of Oslo (Political Science).
