María is a policy officer in the unit Clean Transport Transitions of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) of the European Commission working in the area of transport. She develops and coordinates research and innovation activities, policies & programming, strategies and new approaches for the implementation of the Horizon Europe programme in transport, with a strong focus on the Zero-Emission Waterborne Transport partnership. Before working in DG RTD, María worked in other positions in the European Commission in the Directorate-General for Transport. Before joining the Commission, she has worked in the Spanish public administration and the private sector.
